Religious Ed Programs (PSR or FHS + LIGHT)

The education and formation of a child in the Catholic faith is the responsibility of parents. As a parish community we are committed to assist parents with children in Grades 1-8.

Our Religious Education Program provides two options for families:  1) Parish School of Religion (PSR) and Learning In God's Holiness Together (LIGHT) - or - 2) Family Home School (FHS) and Learning In God's Holiness Together (LIGHT)

1) PSR + LIGHT:  Parish School of Religion is held from mid-September through April at the church.  Children attend 30 learning sessions conducted by a trained religion teacher (catechist).  The classes are held on Mondays from 6:00-7:30 PM.  LIGHT is a multi-generational program for adults and PSR children.  A gathering is held on the first Sunday of the month from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM. and for your convenience is repeated on the first Monday of the month from 6:00-8:00 PM.  Parents must attend with their student either the Sunday or Monday gathering each month that LIGHT is scheduled.

2) FHS + LIGHT: Family Home School is held from mid-September through April in the home.  It is offered to children in the 3rd Grade through the 8th Grade after completing two years in PSR at the church.  Children use approved religion texts and complete unit tests.     LIGHT is a multi-generational program for adults and FHS children.  A gathering is held on the first Sunday of the month from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM and for your convenience is repeated on the first Monday of the month from 6:00-8:00pm.  Parents must attend with their student either the Sunday or Monday gathering each month that LIGHT is scheduled.

Both PSR and LIGHT follow the Buckeye School Calendar.  Sessions are not held when the public schools are closed for holidays, snow days, or in recess.
