Mission
Statement |
The mission of the Liturgical Commission of St.
Martin of Tours is to support the liturgical life of the parish
community by fostering
the full, conscious, and active participation of
the assembly.

The Liturgical Commission meets on the 3rd
Sunday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in the St. Paul meeting
room, February, May, August, November and Anytime a meeting is needed. |

A closer look at the ministries....
Altar Servers:
Altar servers assist the celebrant at the Masses and other
liturgical functions. Any parishioner from grade four and up can apply
for this ministry.

Eucharistic
Ministers:
Eucharistic Ministers distribute the Body and
Blood of Christ at the Masses on Sundays, Holy Days, and special
liturgies. They also minister to the nursing home communities. They
serve on a rotating schedule. A sincere commitment to the schedule is
expected.

Hospitality:
The Hospitality Ministry consists of ushers,
and greeters. They assist the worshipers at the Masses and at other
liturgical functions. They strive to make everyone feel welcome and
comfortable. They serve on a rotating schedule, as individuals, as
couples, or, as families.

Lectors:
Lectors proclaim the Word of God at the Masses
and lead the congregation in its responses. They serve on a rotating
schedule.

Liturgical
Environment:
The purpose of the Liturgical Environment
Ministry is to foster the enhancement of the worship spaces with the use
of color, design, form, and layout. This ministry decorates the worship
areas for Easter, Christmas, and Ordinary Time.

Music:
The Music Ministry Includes: choir members,
cantors, musicians, and music planners. These ministers assist the
parish community in the worship of God in the fullest through prayerful
song and music.

Sacristans:
Sacristans attend to the assembling and
cleaning of the sacred vessels, vestments, and candles that are used at the Mass and other liturgies.
Others stewards in this ministry clean and maintain the beauty of the
worship areas.
