After lighting
the table Advent
wreaths, a ham,
noodle, and
green bean
casserole dinner
was enjoyed, an
Advent song was
sung and Father
Dunphy began the
presentation
with an
explanation of
how the
Incarnation of
Jesus is God's
love for us. The
participants
then broke into
groups where
everyone
received a
beautifully
illustrated book
"The Stations of
the Nativity,"
Scripture was
studied on the
lineage
of
Jesus, and all
participated in
making ornaments
for a Jessie
Tree (which was
included in the
take home bags.)
The children had
a short
Christmas
breakout session
just for them,
then all
proceeded to the
Church where
they decorated a
Christmas tree,
Bible passages
were read, and a
short video was
shown explaining
how we can all
be a Santa
Claus. The group
reflected on
what was
presented while
the musicians, Zoli and Linda
performed "Mary
Did You Know."
As a conclusion,
Santa Claus
himself appeared
and left a gift
for Jesus at the
Altar.
